Our goal is to make your photography experience affordable and hassle-free. For our Full Photo Sessions, we typically choose outdoor locations or your home because it allows children the freedom to play, run, and be themselves. You'll have the opportunity to select from a list of available locations in Sioux Falls, including the Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum, Arrowhead Park, Perry Nature Reserve, Sertoma Park, Outdoor Campus, and Legacy Park.

While we can accommodate sessions in other locations, such as the beach or your own home, please note that these may be subject to a travel fee. Each location offers unique advantages and aesthetics, and during your pre-portrait consultation, we'll work together to determine the best setting to tell your family's story.

Additionally, we do offer a limited number of portrait sessions in a rented studio located in Sioux Falls, SD. If you're interested in studio portraits, please reach out to discuss the available options.

Our family portrait sessions are scheduled to happen rain or shine! Whether it's scorching hot, chilly, windy, lightly rainy, or even a bit snowy, your photo session will proceed as planned. South Dakota's weather can be unpredictable, and we can't guarantee a perfect, sunny day for your session. However, we can guarantee that we'll capture beautiful and memorable moments of your family, whether you're enjoying a golden sunset, cozying up at home in your PJs, or having fun splashing in puddles. Our sessions are designed to document your life, even on less-than-ideal weather days, so feel free to bring an umbrella just in case.

(Note that we will reschedule if weather conditions pose safety concerns for being outdoors.)

We understand that life can sometimes throw unexpected changes your way. Our cancellation and rescheduling policy is designed to be flexible and accommodating. Here are the key points:

Cancellations:

If you need to cancel your family portrait session, please notify us as soon as possible.

Depending on the circumstances, a cancellation fee may apply, but we will work with you to find a suitable solution.

Rescheduling:

We understand that unforeseen events can lead to the need for rescheduling. Please contact us to discuss your situation, and we will do our best to find a new session date that works for you.

There is no additional fee for rescheduling due to inclement weather or other unforeseeable circumstances.

Our goal is to ensure you have a positive and stress-free experience, so please don't hesitate to reach out if you need to make changes to your scheduled session. We're here to work with you and accommodate your needs.

First and foremost, you should wear what makes you comfortable! Outdoor family portrait sessions, especially with little kids, tend to be active. Expect that children might run around and get a little dirty, and there may be moments when sitting on the ground or some walking around is involved. Prioritizing comfort ensures that you can relax and be yourselves in front of the camera.

Absolutely! Pets are considered part of the family too. We welcome furry friends to join your family portrait session. To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience, we kindly ask that your pets are groomed, well-behaved, and kept on a leash during the session. Don't forget to bring along plenty of treats, water, and a few chew toys to keep them comfortable and engaged.

For Full Sessions, your online gallery of proofs will be available within 2-3 week. After you’ve had the chance to review your proofs, we convene so that I can help you select your favorite images. We’ll place the order and have everything delivered to you within a few weeks.

For Mini-Sessions, the turnaround is even faster! You will either select your favorite photos onsite before your session is over, or online within the next 2-3 days.

My visual storytelling style leans toward a candid, documentary approach (the kids being kids, the dog licking your face), but posed family photographs, where everyone is smiling and looking at the camera, are also treasured keepsakes. I work both kinds of photos into Full Sessions. In contrast, Mini Sessions are typically more posed, since the sessions are only 15 minutes and don’t lend themselves to as much unposed play.

We will deliver an online image gallery to you which allows you to download your images from the internet.

Films/videos will be delivered via dropbox you will also receive a USB thumb drive.
